Today was Gavin's first day of school! Not just any first day, but since he's in 1st grade this year he's going ALL day. It was weird, getting up at 7am to get him ready. He had toast and apple juice for breakfast and you could see his anxiety before we pulled into the drive. Since I have the day off, all 4 of us went to see him off to school. Mark had to park the car and walk him in because he didn't know what to do (even though we went over it in orientation yesterday) but he was scared. Mark said by time they figured who his teacher was (apparently I was the only one that remembered & I was in the car with Gwyn) he was in tears. Poor guy!

The day wasn't as bad as it had started for him though. He had 2 recesses with all of the 1st grade & so he got to see some of this other friends from last year. Another boy ran into him on the blacktop & he got to go to the nurses station and got a band aid. The way he talked about it, it sounded like he was pretty proud of it. He also had his first hot lunch at school.

While he was gone, it was Mark, Gwynnie, & myself. After a while Gwyn got bored and asked for Gavin and when was he going to come home. She said she missed him. Then when Mark went to work she asked for her daddy. I hope this isn't going to be too hard on her with Gavin being gone all day. She's going to need someone to play with!

Actually this makes it easier for Gwnnie to go to school when the times comes!! Hope Gavin's rest of the week go great for him. School is such a traumatic experience until you get use to it.

Well that didn't sound bad....He'll get use to it quick....especially since he sees kids he remembers from the year before...Gwynie will miss him for a while....Myesha was the same way when marcus went to school....but when it was her turn......she was so ready to be called a big girl....LOL

Aww.. Poor guy. Sounds like he adjusted pretty quick though. I am sure Gwyn will find a way to occupy herself after the first few days. Hopefully in a better way than Jaylee. She got a green marker and colored herself green ,then tried to paint her own nails.lol

Ha, last year Gwyn did that kind of stuff. She tried to paint her nails & got many other things, such as my bath tub & some clothes, & papers. Today was a hard day on her because I had to go to work & when mark went to work she pitched a fit at grandmas. I'll probably write more about it today tho.
