My Volcano Dream
Current mood: contemplative
Category: Dreams and the Supernatural
Okay I know how much some of my former 80/20 people loved to hear about my dreams... I had this really weird one (no, there are no flea babies in this one!)

So has anyone seen the Silver Surfer yet? I saw it at the drive in over the weekend... I don't want to spoil it for anyone so if you have not seen it and don't want a spoiler don't read till AFTER you see it.

Anyway toward the end of the movie Galactus starts to do his thing where he is sucking up Earth's innards...

In my dream (this is after Galactus' damage) The mantle of the earth has been pulled up kind of in the crust of earth. So the crust is weakened and there is volcanic activity all over...

Well I am in this meeting thing in a barn type house (later it becomes my house) when a volcano ends up erupting right under us. So we're (as in Ashley W., Julie, Apryl, Kirby (he's only there sometimes), and Kirby's karate instructor Mr. Duncan (who I may also add is also an engineer at USSI where I worked for almost 5 years, but he doens't remember me)) surrounded by lava and it's only a matter of time before the house ends up sinking.

Well most of it burns up but we manage to stay adrift on this light green foot stool thing. The foot stool is kind of our moniter in how long we're going to survive becaue as the middle of it is melting the barn/house is sinking.

Outside (yeah most of the barn/house is back for some reason) it looks like solid ground, but we all know that it's not real. The surface is just blackened. Of course Mr. Duncan says it's fine (becaue he's a karate teacher and is kind of arragant) and we can just jump out of the barn to safety (it is a good 6 feet from the door to the ground because of the way the barn/house is floating in the lava). We're like "no you can't" and try to tell him it's just the surface that has cooled, but not solid enough to walk on.

He jumps in (this part is kind of gross) You'd think that Mr. Duncan would sink to the bottom of the lava and not come back up, but he bobs up like some freaky lavaman screaming in pain and slowly sinks back under. There is nothing we can do. And we're all freaked out

By this time the middle of the stool (the middle of the house has a huge hole burnt into it from the lava that the stool is floating in) We fish it out and check the bottom of it and the plastic is melting on it. You can stand on the stool, but if you stand on the middle of the stool you will surely slip into the lava because the middle is much to weak for standing. We use the stool to float across the barn/ house to get to the other door to see how thick the lava goes across. It is still to far to jump across to safety. ... and yeah, ALL of us can stand on it.

Julie remembers that her truck (which is MUCH nicer than Kirby's- Kirby lets us all know of that, too in a moment) is just across the street and we are trying to figure how to get one of us out to get it and save the rest of us when Julie remembers that she is good at pole vaulting. So we find a broom stick, as it's all we have- and she goes and pole vaults off the roof of the barn/house to get her truck.

While Julie is gone I'm thinking of taking stuff with me, like photos, and baby books of my kids (because it is MY house), and then I feel guilty because there are lives at stake and here I am thinking of material items... Plus there is always the one idiot that puts things before the lives of people in movies and jeapordizes everyone else... So I decide not to get anything. Then I see Ashley W. has her purse, so I get mine, too. I didn't feel too bad about that since she had hers.

Julie gets the truck and I see the wheels are in the lava and I'm freaking out they are going to burn off (but they are really good rubber or something) and while Everyone is jumping into the back of her truck (which makes no sence because Julie didn't back it in) Kirby decides he's not sure if he wants to get into her truck because it's a Dodge Durango (even though we all know that is an SUV, not a pick up truck) So I'm getting mad at Kirby because he's in front of me. The barn/house is starting to sink in the lava and he wants to give her a hard time for her truck. (I guess that's what happens when you tell a man he has a pink truck)

In the end we all get out safely and in a nick of time and we're driving off and the camera in my dream pans out to show that we're driving in the right direction because the other way is all burning volcanos and lava.

There is more, but it's too wierd and complicated than this one and pretty much Julie, Apryl, Ashley, and everyone goes on thier own separate ways.

You should think about making some of your dreams into books! You describe things very well!
