Eat My Shovel
Current mood: drained

Snow sucks. I don't know why I live in the friggin midwest sometimes. Had to get the kids to the dr and what do you know- I got stuck on my own road not even past the 3rd house. (which was probably a good thing considering what I had to do for the next 2+ hours).
Which was shovel. ...and shovel ...and shovel. I had to shovel my road from my stuck car to make a path to get back into my driveway. I had to break out the ole kitty litter, too (the clean stuff, sicko's). By time I had gotten the car to back into my driveway I realized I had to shovel the driveway as well.... So at this point I *finally* see a plow (jerkface). Instead of offering to push my car into my drive way so he could plow- he only plowed 1/2 the road. Which was stupid anyway because I had shoveled half already.
I was halfway finished with my driveway when my neighbor lady (who is in the Fort Wayne Philharmonic) opened her garage door to watch me. I'm sure I looked ridiculous. Anyhoo- she told me that if I ever needed to borrow her snow blower to just give her a knock. Thanks, now that I've been working for 2 hours on this dilemma.
Needless to say the kids missed thier dr appointments and I was pretty mad about missing work in the first place and now my day was going to be a complete waste.
In the end Kirby took off work to pick up a script they called for Gavin (he has pink eye), but he had to take in Gwyneth for me (she has an ear infection) because they "had to see her."
The Dr. on call was really super nice. He ended up giving me a sample for Gavin's eye drops (it was going to cost me over $77), and when I went to pay he had written "no charge." How super was that?! I should send him a thank-you note.
So when we got home I was so exhausted and just plain cold I ended up falling asleep for almost 5 hours!! Yikes! My cat Millie slept with me and at one point Gwyn did my hair because I found all these barettes in it when I woke up.
Apryl's moral:
Life has struggles, but you have to work through them. Sometimes it seems like you're working just to have people laugh in your face and it's a pointless waste of time. But with diligence and patience things will eventually turn your way- and you may discover a cool hair style for your troubles.
Comments:
Suddenly my day doesn't sound so bad. I sure hope today goes better for you. What a nice Dr!! That would never ever happen around here. Hope the kids feel better soon.

LoL about you wakin up with Barettes in your hair. Some plow truck drivers are just so rude...I hate when they plow in your driveway after you just got done shovelling!
