I looked, but couldn't find any photos of my grandpa.
I guess I hadn't updated this blog, but my grandpa died last Tuesday. Here is a link to his obituary
The funeral was today. It was a nice service. It's still unreal though. Our family did still have thanksgiving to keep things "normal" for us as much as possible. I had to make green bean casserole for 24 people.
One of my cousins & I made the poster board with the photos for grandpa's funeral. We made them into scrapbook pages so when we take them down we can put them into a scrapbook for grandma. It's so hard because we are such a close family. I've never had anyone close to me die before...
Don't know what else to say besides maybe some memories floating in my head. Ace Hardware, walking home from church, Sunday dinners, him making me learn to do my taxes... his pancakes in the mornings (when I lived with him & grandma), whiskers as a child, his serious voice, gag gifts to my cousin... I'm loaded with memories, I wish I could make more.
I did a paper on him for my first class in college, I had to choose a successful person and grandpa was the person that popped into my head... Mark's too when I asked him who I should do it on. He's made an impression on everyone he met. He really was an amazing guy. I will put the paper on my website when I have time.
