Where do I start? First off everyone is OKAY! Thank God. Yesterday at school Mark called me- and he never does so I figured there was something wrong. Boy was I right. I hate it when my instincts are right sometimes.
Apparently he, Anna, and my children were on thier way to Fort Wayne to run some errands and stuff in the fog. The weather reports say it was freezing fog, which makes the roads slick (compounded with the snow and ice already on teh roads), and it was so dense there was less than 1/4 mile visiblity.
Please keep in mind I was not present, so some of my facts may be off, but here is what I gathered what happened:
This semi truck was pulling from 400 across 30 really slow when Mark happened upon it. He braked, but knew he wouldn't make it so he tried to manuver into 400, where the truck was pulling out of. The driver saw him and panicked and attempted to back up blocking all of them. *smash*
I think my son told me they ran into the tires. The car was totally smashed (they were still cleaning the scene when I drove by to meet my children at the ER). The air bags deployed and everyone thought the car was on fire because of the amound of smoke the powder from the airbags made (a common misconception), so they all vacated the vehicle. They were all LUCKY to walk out of the car.
Everyone has pretty nasty seat belt bruises and is probably sore today. Mark hit his knee on the dash causing some minor trauma. Anna hurt/cut? her fingers because she reached back for the children and also did something to her ankle. I will admit I didn't really pay too much attention to them as my concerns were focused on the little ones.
Gavin was really shook up, but as of right now his only pains were from the seat belt. I predict a complex on future foggy days when he is required to ride in a car.
Gwyneth had some scrapes across her knuckles on one hand, huge bruise on her arm, stomach, and some smaller ons across her hips and thighs. She also bonked a tooth, causing some aches there. She was more concerned with losing her gum. She also told me that "at first I heard the crash, then I feeled it" Even scared she's still adorable!
Oh and as far as the semi truck. Ironically enough it was headed to 80/20 (my work), but the driver had never been there so he was lost. He felt really, really bad about it.

Im so glad that everyone is OK! Those are some nasty pictures. It really does look like they got lucky with the few injuries they had. If Gavin doesnt realize the accident was because of the fog, he might be spared that complex since he wouldnt have a reason to associate that with the wreck. On the other hand, if he does, i wish the best of luck to him of over coming that in the future. Im just so glad everyone isnt seriously injured.

wow, I am glad to hear your kids are ok!! I bet you were FREAKING out before you saw your kids!

I am so glad that every one is alright!! That had to of been scarey for you driving by the accident site before you got to see your kids. As a Mom myself I know that you must have been freaking until you got to see that your babies were ok with your own eyes. Give them a hug for me!!!

Thank god the kids are okay. Poor lil ones, I hope their bruises and stuff heal quickly and that the crash didnt cause too much trama to make them scared of driving or anything. Oh and its good that Mark and Anna are ok too...lol but honestly I am much more happy that your babies are ok:)

I am really glad you cuties where not hurt. and i sure hope gavin wont have another fear... just hope that guy is right and he wont put 2 and 2 together.
